Privacy Policy

How your information is handled on this site and in my practice. Last updated 30 August 2026.

This site is run by Irene, an independent energy healing and psycho-spiritual practitioner based in Paris and working online. This policy explains what information I collect through thelighthascome.com, why I collect it, how long I keep it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French data protection law.

What I collect

What you send me. When you use the form on the Book a Session page, you give me your name, your email address, what you are looking for, whether you would prefer to meet in person or online, and whatever you choose to write about what you would like to work on. If we go on to work together, you may also complete a short intake form and exchange emails or messages with me.

What the server records. Like almost every website, this one sits on a web host that keeps technical logs: IP addresses, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. These are generated automatically and used for security and troubleshooting.

What I do not collect. There is no advertising on this site, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, and no profiling. I do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, ever.

Why I collect it, and on what basis

I use your contact details and your message to answer you and, if you decide to go ahead, to arrange and carry out our sessions. The legal basis for that is the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering one.

Server logs are kept on the basis of legitimate interests: keeping the site available and secure. Where I am required to retain anything for accounting or tax purposes, the basis is legal obligation.

Information about your health

You may choose to tell me about a medical condition, a treatment, or something you are going through emotionally. Under the GDPR this is special category data and it deserves particular care. I ask for it only where it is relevant to adapting a session safely, I process it on the basis of your explicit consent, and I do not share it with anyone.

I am not a doctor, a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and nothing you tell me forms part of a medical record.

Confidentiality of sessions

Everything said in a session is confidential. I do not discuss clients with other clients, I do not use session content in writing or teaching in any form that could identify you, and I do not record sessions unless you ask me to. Where a reading is recorded at your request, the recording is yours; I delete my copy once you have received it.

How long I keep things

Enquiries that do not lead to work together are deleted within twelve months. Correspondence and notes relating to clients are kept for as long as we are working together and for three years afterwards, so that I can pick up a thread if you come back. Invoicing records are kept for ten years, as French accounting law requires. Server logs are kept for the short period set by the hosting provider.

You can ask me to delete anything sooner, and I will, unless the law requires me to keep it.

Who else is involved

A small number of service providers necessarily handle data on my behalf: the company hosting this website, the provider of my email service, and the anti-spam service used to filter form submissions. They act on my instructions and are bound to protect the data. I do not transfer your information to anyone else.

Cookies

This site sets only the cookies WordPress needs to function, and a preference cookie if you choose a language. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, write to me through the contact form. I answer within one month.

If you believe I have handled your information badly, you are entitled to complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, at cnil.fr.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. Sessions with a minor are arranged with a parent or guardian, who gives consent and is present or informed as appropriate.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will be pointed out to anyone I am currently working with.

Getting in touch

Questions about any of this are welcome. The contact form reaches me directly.
